Mihintalava Aloka Puja
The ‘Mihintale Lake House Aloka Pooja’ organized by the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL) will be held on a grand scale for the 49th time this year too, coinciding with the 2600th Sambuddhatva Jayanthi.
It will be held on 14, 15 and 16 June with the joint sponsorship of the Ceylon Electricity Board.
A meeting presided over by the Anuradhapura District Secretary H M K Herath and under the guidance of Mihintale Rajamaha Vihara Chief Incumbent Ven Namalwewe Rathanasara Thera was held at the Mihintale district secretariat on May 31 to discuss the work related to the Poson festival where a large number of people are expected to visit.
Sil campaigns, dansal, decorations etc will take place as part of the festival.
The police will take steps to arrange for smooth transportation to and from the premises for the convenience of the devotees. Roads in the Mihintale Vihara area will be speedily restored.
The Poson Week is from 12 to 18 June.
The festival starts from the Mihindu perahara and the Lake House Aloka Pooja.
